So we didn't really set out to buy a house. Especially not one like our new house. But, on February 17th 2012 we signed the papers to our new, completely original 1964 bungalow.
Did you catch that "completely original" part? Yeppers...we're talking only one update since the house was built 50 years ago, and that update was converting the garage into an extra living room and doing a doozie of a fix on the driveway.
So we closed on the house on Friday and our contractor got to work on Monday with a total renovation. This blog, if I can ever find the time to update it, will chronicle the process of fixing up the home that we hope to live in for a very, very long time. This house already has loads of sentimental value for me (more to come on that part later) and I envision us raising our children here, hosting Christmas dinners, and sitting on the front porch sipping ice tea. It's a wonderful home and we are blessed beyond measure.
